Job Summary
Float to Medical-Surgical Telemetry units, the Emergency Department, ICU, or PACU as patient census dictates. Perform nursing assessments, conduct hourly rounding, and utilize the SBAR framework for all hand-offs. Manage patient care plans, coordinate interdisciplinary discharge planning with Care Managers, and document outcomes following the Watson Model of Care. Provide basic hygiene and ADLs, maintain a safe environment compliant with regulatory standards, and participate in unit orientation and equipment setup. This role offers a 12-hour shift with a $7 night differential. The Clinical Staff Nurse reports to the Manager Central Staffing at Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital, supporting the hospital's strategic plan and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Associate in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or equivalent
- Minimum of 12 months of clinical nursing experience
- Current California Nursing license
- Basic EKG Competence
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Current Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Sciences degree preferred
- Minimum of 12 months of Med/Surg/Telemetry or Critical Care nursing experience
- Certification in Progressive Critical Care Nursing preferred
- Certification in Medical / Surgical Nursing preferred
- Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish)
- Basic computer skills
- Dysrrythmia Course certificate preferred
- Electronic Medical Record experience preferred
