Job Summary
Lead patient care delivery in the Med/Surg Post Op unit using the nursing process to assess, teach, and manage diverse patient needs. Delegate tasks, direct ancillary team members, and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary partners to ensure quality outcomes. Adapt communication styles to specific patient populations while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Perform duties requiring lifting up to 100 pounds and manage exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous medications. Report any unethical behaviors or safety concerns immediately through the Compliance & Privacy Program.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good organizational and time management skills and ability to be self-directed
- Ability to demonstrate good judgement
- Must be able to lift 50 to 100 pounds occasionally, 25 to 50 pounds frequently, or 10 to 20 pounds constantly
- Must be willing to work in an area with exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue
- Must be willing to work in a healthcare setting with potential exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste
- Must reside in an eligible location (not Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, Washington D.C.) for on-site work
