Job Summary
Provide patient care for adult medical patients with diagnoses including respiratory infections, pneumonia, and diverticulitis using the nursing process. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients, coordinate care with other departments, and evaluate the effectiveness of direct care givers. Ensure patient rights and confidentiality are upheld while performing duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards. This night shift position (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) requires full-time commitment (36 hours/week) and includes physical demands such as lifting up to 50 lbs and prolonged standing. Candidates must hold a current Missouri RN license, BLS certification, and an ADN, BSN, or nursing diploma.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Nursing Diploma
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri
- Compact licensure in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Previous hospital experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
