Job Summary
Provide patient care for adult medical patients with diagnoses including small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, and pneumonia using the nursing process. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients, coordinate care with other departments, and evaluate the effectiveness of direct care givers. Perform duties consistent with Mercy mission and service standards while ensuring patient rights and confidentiality. Requires current Missouri RN licensure, BLS certification, and ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for prolonged shifts. Night shift coverage from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Nursing Diploma
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri
- Compact licensure in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Previous hospital experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
