Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned patients on a 30-bed Med/Surg unit, evaluating care effectiveness and coordinating with other departments. Manage a 1:6 patient ratio while supporting GI, Oncology, Post-Op, COPD, and complex wound care cases. Maintain professional accountability and patient confidentiality consistent with Mercy Service Standards. Work full-time nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) with ACLS and BLS certifications required. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Active RN license (state-specific or compact)
- Must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- BLS – Basic Life Support (or within 30 days of hire)
- Any unit-specific certifications (with timeline for completion)
- Regularly lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Prolonged standing/walking throughout shift
- Ability to bend, kneel, twist, squat as needed
