Job Summary
Provide patient care on the 30-bed Med/Surg unit, managing GI, Oncology, Post-Op, COPD, and complex wound care cases with a 1:6 ratio. Utilize the nursing process to evaluate care effectiveness, coordinate with other departments, and maintain patient confidentiality. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards while supported by Patient Care Associates. Requires an active RN license, ACLS certification, and ability to lift 50 lbs with prolonged standing. Earn a $20,000 sign-on bonus for experienced nurses or $15,000 for new graduates, plus premium pay and tuition reimbursement. Work nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 36 hours weekly.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Active RN license (state-specific or compact)
- Must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- BLS – Basic Life Support (or within 30 days of hire)
- Any unit-specific certifications (with timeline for completion)
- Regularly lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Prolonged standing/walking throughout shift
- Ability to bend, kneel, twist, squat as needed
