Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned patients on the Med/Surg unit, coordinating care with other departments and maintaining professional accountability. Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers while ensuring patient rights and confidentiality are upheld. Manage a 1:6 RN-to-patient ratio across a 30-bed unit serving GI, Oncology, post-op, and complex wound care patients, supported by Patient Care Associates. Work full-time days shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 36 hours per week. Qualifications include an active RN license, ACLS certification, and BLS.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Active RN license (state-specific or compact)
- Must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- BLS – Basic Life Support (or within 30 days of hire)
- Any unit-specific certifications (with timeline for completion)
- Regularly lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Prolonged standing/walking throughout shift
- Ability to bend, kneel, twist, squat as needed
