Job Summary

Provide exceptional nursing care across multiple inpatient units including Medical, Surgical, PCU, Emergency Department, Behavioral Health, Skilled Nursing, and Women's and Children's units. Perform comprehensive patient assessments, administer medications and IV therapy, and monitor vital signs while communicating critical changes to providers using SBAR format. Maintain equipment to departmental standards, document clinical findings in compliance with regulatory mandates, and complete required unit competencies annually. Cross-train and maintain competence in two or more units while adhering to Logan Health's core values of compassion, teamwork, and excellence. This flexible PRN position offers premium pay with an 18% rate increase plus shift differentials, with schedules accommodating day and night 12-hour shifts to support coverage during busy periods and absences.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Montana RN license or a multi-state compact license with authorization to practice nursing within the state of Montana
  • Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience
  • Must cross train and maintain competence in two (2) or more units in addition to maintaining competence to work in all the Medical/Surgical units
  • BLS required
  • ACLS for PCU and ED required
  • TNCC, ENPC, and PALS for ED must be successfully obtained within twelve (12) months of hire
  • Experience, competency, and certifications as required by units qualified to float
  • Must be adaptable to various inpatient settings
  • Must be willing to work day and night shifts
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Variable (United States of America) Schedule
  • Must maintain regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership
  • Must be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be available for weekend shifts

Desired Qualifications

  • BSN degree preferred
  • National Certification in Medical, Surgical, or emergency care preferred
