Job Summary
Utilize the Mercy Nursing Professional Practice Model to provide patient care, maintain professional accountability, and coordinate care across departments while ensuring patient rights and confidentiality. Function within the scope of nursing preparation and established guidelines, including the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and Code of Professional and Business Ethics. Provide coverage as part of the Med Surg facility float pool, requiring current RN licensure, three years of experience, and BLS certification. Meet physical demands involving standing, walking, lifting up to 40 lbs, and assisting with patient transfers. Work differing schedules and shifts according to patient care requirements. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a state approved professional nurse program
- Current RN licensure with State Board of Nursing in the applicable state of practice or current temporary work permit in the applicable state of practice
- 3 years RN experience
- BLS certification
- Stand and walk most of the time on duty
- Meet unit specific physical demands
- Significant amount of bending and stooping
- Lifting and turning patients with assistance
- Push, pull, and grip up to 40 lbs
- Pinch up to 10 lbs
- Kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally
