Job Summary
Provide patient care using the Mercy Nursing Professional Practice Model and nursing process for assigned patients in the Med Surg facility float pool. Coordinate care across departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality. Perform duties consistent with the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, Mercy Service Standards, and the Code of Professional and Business Ethics. Requires current RN licensure, three years of experience, and BLS certification. Involves standing, walking, lifting, and turning patients with physical demands up to 40 lbs. Float pool availability may require differing schedules, shifts, or days based on patient care requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a state approved professional nurse program
- Current RN licensure with State Board of Nursing in the applicable state of practice or current temporary work permit in the applicable state of practice
- 3 years RN experience
- BLS certification
- Stand and walk most of the time on duty
- Meet unit specific physical demands
- Significant amount of bending and stooping
- Lifting and turning patients with assistance
- Push, pull, and grip up to 40 lbs.
- Pinch up to 10 lbs.
- Kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally
