Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, reassess patient conditions, and document findings for Med Surg patients on night shift. Develop and coordinate individualized plans of care, formulating interventions to achieve desired outcomes while incorporating evidence-based practices. Administer medications, manage IV fluids, and provide patient/family education regarding discharge needs and pain management techniques. Collaborate with the health team to ensure accurate handoff communications and promptly report significant clinical changes or variations in care. Maintain infection control standards, monitor patient safety, and participate in unit-based performance improvement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Maintains current license and certifications
- Maintain up to date BLS and HI
- Annual TB Screening and Influenza vaccination
- Annual Ethics Training (Initial Ethics, if new employee)
- Annual Safety Training
- Required Information Security course
- Required Abuse & Neglect course
- Annual Blood Borne Pathogens training (if required)
- Coursework as assigned for .edu
- Annual competency
- Age/Population specific competency (if applicable)

- Maintains currency in all hospital/unit information, communication, policies and procedures
- Attends staff meetings/reviews minutes when absent
