Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for adult medical patients, maintaining professional accountability and evaluating the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinate patient care with other departments while upholding patient rights and confidentiality. Manage duties consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards. Work nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM as part of a full-time 36-hour schedule. Handle typical diagnoses including small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia. Develop core clinical skills in patient assessment, time management, and complex care coordination through multidisciplinary teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Nursing Diploma
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri
- Compact licensure in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Previous hospital experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
