Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for adult medical patients with diagnoses such as pneumonia, cellulitis, and small bowel obstructions. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients, coordinate care with other departments, and evaluate the effectiveness of direct care givers. Perform duties consistent with Mercy service standards while ensuring patient rights and confidentiality. Gain experience in patient assessment, time management, and complex care planning on a night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- Nursing Diploma
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri
- Compact licensure in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Completion of BLS certification within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
