Job Summary
Provide patient care for adult medical patients on Med Surg 5E, utilizing the nursing process to manage diagnoses such as pneumonia, cellulitis, and diverticulitis. Coordinate care with other departments, evaluate the effectiveness of direct care givers, and maintain patient confidentiality. Perform duties consistent with Mercy service standards, including patient assessment, complex care planning, and multidisciplinary teamwork. Requires a current Missouri RN license, BLS certification, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Full-time night shift (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with a sign-on bonus for experienced and new graduate nurses.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Nursing Diploma
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri
- Compact licensure in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Previous hospital experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
