Job Summary
Conduct patient care for adult medical patients on Med Surg 5E, managing diagnoses such as pneumonia, cellulitis, and diverticulitis. Utilize the nursing process to perform assessments, coordinate complex care plans, and maintain professional accountability for assigned patients. Provide frequent monitoring and thoughtful care planning within a multidisciplinary team environment. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality while adhering to Mercy service standards. Requires current Missouri RN licensure, BLS certification, and an Associate, Diploma, or BSN in Nursing. Schedule includes night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 36 hours weekly.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Nursing Diploma
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri
- Compact licensure in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Completion of BLS certification within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
