Job Summary
Provide patient care for adult medical patients on Med Surg 5E using the nursing process, maintaining professional accountability and coordinating care with other departments. Perform patient assessments, manage complex care plans for conditions such as pneumonia and diverticulitis, and ensure confidentiality while evaluating the effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers. Maintain rights and confidentiality of patient information in a manner consistent with Mercy service standards. Requires current Missouri RN license, BLS certification, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, full-time 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Nursing Diploma
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri
- Compact licensure in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Completion of BLS certification within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
