Job Summary
Provide patient care for adult medical patients on Med Surg 5E using the nursing process, maintaining accountability for assigned patients and coordinating care across departments. Evaluate care effectiveness by other direct care givers while upholding patient rights and confidentiality. Manage small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia through frequent monitoring and complex care planning. Perform duties consistent with Mercy mission, values, and service standards. Requires current Missouri RN license, BLS certification, and ability to lift 50 lbs with prolonged standing. Night shift (7:00 PM–7:30 AM).
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Nursing Diploma
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri
- Compact licensure in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Previous hospital experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
