Job Summary
Provide patient care using the nursing process for assigned adult medical patients with diagnoses including small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia. Maintain professional accountability for care delivery, evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers, and coordinate patient care with other departments. Uphold patient rights and confidentiality while performing duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards. This Med Surg 5E unit offers an environment to strengthen core skills and manage diverse medical needs. Full-time, 36-hour day shift (7:00am–7:00pm) with a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for experienced nurses or $5,000 for new graduates.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Nursing Diploma
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri
- Compact licensure in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Previous hospital experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
