Job Summary
Provide patient care for adult medical patients on Med Surg 5E using the nursing process, maintaining professional accountability and coordinating care across departments. Manage diagnoses including small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, and pneumonia while ensuring patient rights and confidentiality. Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards. Requires current Missouri RN license, BLS certification, and ability to lift 50 lbs with prolonged standing. Full-time days shift from 7:00am to 7:00pm.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Previous hospital experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties

- Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
