Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) in the Emergency Department at Mary and Elizabeth Hospital ( Louisville, KY ) provides nursing care across age groups using the nursing process and nursing practice standards. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments from admission to discharge, administering medications per policy, planning age-appropriate care with the care team, prioritizing patient problems, implementing care interventions, evaluating patient/family teaching, and coordinating with unlicensed staff. Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program (required)
- Current KY RN licensure or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (may be required for specific clinical areas)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (may be required for specific clinical areas)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program (preferred)
- Two years of hospital patient care experience (preferred)
