Job Summary
Manages nursing home staff and nursing activities on a day shift, assigns residents to available nursing staff based on resident condition and staff skill, measures employee performance, assists in training and development of staff, monitors cleanliness and readiness of care areas, and provides nursing care as needed. May administer oxygen, basic life support, IVs, or medications as prescribed. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in nursing and an RN license; leadership experience in nursing management and knowledge of clinical, administrative, and financial principles. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential and advancement opportunities are noted.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing or multistate licensure if NLC state
- three years of nursing management experience, two at manager level
- one year of long term care or subacute care experience
- knowledge of nursing practice act and standards
- competencies in clinical practices, administration, and finances
