Conduct daily rounds with physicians and staff to coordinate patient care, while supervising and directing nursing and ancillary personnel on an assigned shift. Establish standards of care, monitor critical processes through data audits, and resolve operational issues to ensure safe, complication-free outcomes. Manage unit staffing by assessing personnel requirements, authorizing overtime, and completing monthly schedules with minimal short-staffing events. Facilitate throughput through early discharges and bed management, while preventing nosocomial infections and conducting emergency preparedness reviews.
