Job Summary
RN Manager - L&D, Mother-Baby leads and coordinates nursing staff on a defined unit to deliver whole-person care that is safe and high quality. The role maintains a visible presence on the unit, collaborates with staff, charge nurses, physicians, and department leaders to ensure efficient operations and high satisfaction among patients, families, and staff. Responsibilities include scheduling, leading daily activities, coaching and disciplining personnel as needed, monitoring attendance and staffing, coordinating education needs, ensuring regulatory compliance, implementing safety and quality initiatives, performing daily rounds with physicians, directing patient care activities, investigating issues, coordinating conferences to revise care plans, managing overtime and unit staffing, and facilitating throughput and timely admissions/transfers. Requires Bachelor’s degree in nursing (Master’s preferred) and RN licensure; preferred credentials include CPR/BLS, NRP/ARC-NALS, and national specialty certification in nursing administration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience (Required)
- RN licensure in the state of practice (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS (Required)
