Job Summary
Conduct daily rounds with physicians and staff to coordinate patient care, while scheduling, leading, and coordinating unit activities on assigned shifts. Build a high-performing team by recruiting skilled nurses, completing periodic evaluations, and coaching personnel. Set goals for patient safety and quality, monitor critical processes through audits and incident reports, and resolve operational issues. Authorize overtime, complete monthly staff schedules, and facilitate throughput via early discharge and bed management. Establish standards of care, engage staff in change action plans, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- One year's leadership experience
- Two years' experience of acute care nursing in hospital setting
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- National specialty certification in area of expertise or in nursing administration
