Job Summary
Oversee all nursing staff at the Mulrooney Manor Residence and serve as the hospital liaison for challenging cases. Provide the facility with means for prompt detection and referral of health problems through coordination of medical surveillance, periodic inspections, and regular examinations. Write annual Nursing Summary Evaluations and Service Plans for each client while participating in interdisciplinary evaluations to monitor individualized medical needs. Attend staff conferences and Inter-disciplinary Treatment Team meetings, including 90-day and annual reviews. Train staff in detecting signs of illness, basic health skills, and first aid for accidents. Coordinate annual physical examinations, review lab work, and supervise medication administration, including re-certifying staff as Approved Medication Administration Personnel. Monitor vital signs, blood levels, and client responses to medications, reporting adverse reactions and interventions to physicians. Manage hospitalizations and emergency room visits, prepare emergency medical kits per American Red Cross guidelines, and enter required nursing notes for monthly progress reports. Maintain on-call status Monday to Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in nursing
- Current state license as a Registered Nurse
- 2-5 years previous experience as a Registered Nurse
Desired Qualifications
- B.A. or B.S. degree in Nursing
- Experience in an ICF or IRA for the developmentally disabled
- At least one to two years supervisory experience
- Supervisory experience in the healthcare field
