Job Summary
Conduct daily rounds with physicians and staff to coordinate patient care, direct nursing performance, and resolve operational issues. Build a high-performing clinical team by recruiting skilled personnel, completing periodic evaluations, and coaching staff on educational needs. Set goals for patient safety and quality, monitor critical outcomes through data audits, and establish standards of care for accountability. Manage unit staffing by assessing daily personnel requirements, authorizing overtime, and completing the monthly schedule accurately. Facilitate throughput through early discharges and bed management, conduct emergency preparedness reviews, and ensure equipment safety.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- S.T.A.B.L.E Certification (STABLE)
- Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or TEAM-A
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable
- Access to and understanding of E-Verify Participation and Right to Work notices
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- One year's leadership experience
- Two years' experience of acute care nursing in hospital setting
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
