Job Summary
Conduct daily rounds with physicians and staff to coordinate patient care, while supervising and directing nursing and ancillary personnel to ensure safe, complication-free outcomes. Build a high-performing clinical team by recruiting skilled staff, completing periodic evaluations, and coaching or disciplining as needed. Establish standards of care, monitor critical processes through data audits, and resolve operational or patient care issues promptly. Manage unit staffing by assessing personnel requirements, authorizing overtime, and completing monthly schedules with minimal short-staffing events. Facilitate throughput through early discharges and bed management, while conducting emergency preparedness reviews and preventing nosocomial infections.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- S.T.A.B.L.E Certification (STABLE)
- Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or TEAM-A
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable
- Acknowledgement of E-Verify Participation and Right to Work notices
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- One year's leadership experience
- Two years' experience of acute care nursing in hospital setting
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
