Job Summary

Lead a 160-bed hospital unit by creating a safe, complication-free environment where front-line nurses and ancillary staff provide whole-person care. Direct daily activities of nursing and ancillary personnel while scheduling, leading, and coordinating unit operations on assigned shifts. Build a high-performing team by recruiting skilled staff, coaching, disciplining as needed, and completing periodic evaluations. Conduct daily rounds with physicians to coordinate patient care, initiate team conferences, and revise care plans. Monitor critical processes through audits and incident reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and establish standards of care. Facilitate throughput by managing admissions, transfers, and early discharges while authorizing overtime and maintaining accurate monthly staff schedules. Prevent complications including nosocomial infections and conduct emergency preparedness reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
  • Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
  • S.T.A.B.L.E Certification (STABLE)
  • Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or TEAM-A
  • All required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable
  • Access to and understanding of E-Verify Participation and Right to Work notices

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • Five years' technical experience
  • One year's leadership experience
  • Two years' experience of acute care nursing in hospital setting
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
