Job Summary
Conduct daily rounds with physicians and staff to coordinate patient care, while directing and monitoring nursing activities to ensure quality and safety. Build a high-performing clinical team by recruiting skilled personnel, coaching staff, and completing periodic evaluations. Set goals for patient safety and compliance, then monitor critical processes through data audits and incident reports. Manage unit staffing by assessing daily personnel needs, authorizing overtime, and completing monthly schedules to prevent short staffing. Facilitate throughput by coordinating admissions, transfers, and early discharges, while conducting emergency preparedness reviews and preventing care complications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- S.T.A.B.L.E Certification (STABLE)
- Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or TEAM-A
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- One year's leadership experience
- Two years' experience of acute care nursing in hospital setting
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- National specialty certification in area of expertise or in nursing administration
