Job Summary

Create a safe, complication-free environment where front-line nurses and ancillary staff provide whole person care. Schedule, lead, and coordinate daily unit activities on an assigned shift while maintaining a highly-visible presence. Supervise and direct nursing and ancillary personnel using professional discretion to ensure efficient clinical operations and high satisfaction. Conduct daily rounds with physicians to coordinate patient care, initiate team conferences, and revise care plans. Monitor critical processes through audits and incident reports to drive quality, safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Assess personnel needs daily, authorize overtime, and complete monthly staff scheduling to prevent short staffing. Build a high-performing team by recruiting staff, coaching, evaluating performance, and developing action plans for change. This role supports the 160-bed hospital at Adventist Health Castle, recognized with the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, in Kailua.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
  • Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
  • S.T.A.B.L.E Certification (STABLE)
  • Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or TEAM-A
  • All required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable
  • Access to and understanding of E-Verify Participation and Right to Work notices

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • Five years' technical experience
  • One year's leadership experience
  • Two years' experience of acute care nursing in hospital setting
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
