Job Summary
Create a safe, complication-free environment where front-line nurses and ancillary staff provide whole-person care. Supervise and direct nursing and ancillary personnel, conducting daily rounds with physicians to coordinate patient care and revise care plans. Build a high-performing team by recruiting skilled staff, coaching, disciplining as needed, and completing periodic evaluations. Establish standards of care, monitor critical processes through audits and data analysis, and resolve patient care and operational issues. Manage unit staffing by assessing personnel needs, authorizing overtime, and completing monthly schedules with minimal short-staffing events. Facilitate throughput through early discharge and bed management while conducting emergency preparedness reviews. Maintain a highly visible presence on the unit to ensure efficient clinical operations and high satisfaction across patients, families, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- S.T.A.B.L.E Certification (STABLE)
- Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or TEAM-A
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable
- E-Verify participation acknowledgment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- One year's leadership experience
- Two years' experience of acute care nursing in hospital setting
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
