Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, synthesize collected data to formulate nursing diagnoses, and implement individualized care plans within legal and regulatory parameters. Evaluate patient outcomes against evidence-based benchmarks, report responses to interventions, and coordinate follow-up care or referrals as needed. Maintain ongoing competence through reflection and lifelong learning while adhering to federal, state, and local healthcare standards. Requires current Texas RN or LVN license, ACLS certification within 12 months, and minimum one on-call rotation monthly. Full-time Monday through Friday shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM with occasional late shifts; BSN preferred with support for education advancement.
Required Qualifications
- An associate's degree (ADN) or diploma in nursing
- Current State of Texas License as a Registered Nurse or LVN
- ACLS certification within 12 months of date of employment in the Heart Institute
- Minimum of one on-call weekend or alternative schedule monthly and one major and one minor holiday per year
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
- Certification in area of specialty (e.g., CV, CIS etc.)
- Critical Care experience
