Job Summary
Unit Manager role overseeing a nursing unit with 24/7 continuity of resident care, combining administrative leadership and clinical expertise. Responsibilities include leading the unit as a manager, coordinating with the Director of Nursing to ensure adequate nursing coverage, developing and evaluating unit protocols/standards, assessing staff performance, implementing disciplinary actions when needed, encouraging staff development, providing professional guidance, conducting regular shift meetings, participating in quality assurance and improvement activities, planning educational programs for staff, coordinating discharge plans with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team, and assuming administrative responsibilities for weekends/holidays as requested. The position requires leadership, problem-solving, independent program development, knowledge of nursing practices and relevant regulations, and a focus on delivering high-quality, compassionate resident care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current NJ state nursing licensure
- Leadership experience (head nurse, supervisor, etc.) for a minimum of one year
