Job Summary
Medical Assistant in ambulatory Urgent Care setting performs clinical and administrative duties under supervision: obtaining vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, observing and reporting patient status, assisting with care plans, and communicating provider instructions to patients or caregivers. The MA participates in care across the lifespan, supports preventative care and follow-up, and conducts point-of-care testing as part of the care team. The role requires graduation from a recognized Medical Assistant program, National Certification/Registration as MA (CMA/CCMA/CMAC/NCMA/RMA, etc.), and BLS certification within six months of employment. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program
- Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA)
- Certification (CMA) such as AAMA, CCMA (NHA), CMAC (AMCA), NCMA (NCCT), or RMA (AMT) acceptable
- ND registration as MAIII if ND location at time of hire; 4-month window to obtain registration
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of employment
