Job Summary
Casual Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse position in Winnipeg under Lions Housing Centres Inc. Reports to the Resident Care Manager. Responsibilities include applying the nursing process to deliver safe, quality care; medication administration and monitoring; consulting with physicians, Resident Care Manager, on-call Director/Manager, interdisciplinary team, and external agencies; managing gerontology issues (pressure ulcers, delirium, fall prevention, restraint reduction, incontinence, behavior management); participating in clinical work groups; contributing to quality improvement and audit processes; and serving as a resource to Health Care Aides. Requires a nursing license from CRNM/CRPNM or CLPNM and good standing; prior long-term care experience is an asset; strong communication, decision-making, and teamwork skills; adherence to the organization’s values. Term/ Casual, In Person, Winnipeg.
Required Qualifications
- nursing license from CRNM/ CRPNM or CLPNM and in good standing
- experience in a long-term care setting is an asset
- effective written and verbal communication in English
- strong decision-making problem solving and critical thinking
- good organizational and time management
- good interpersonal skills and willingness to work as part of interdisciplinary team

- current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment
