Job Summary
Coordinate total nursing care for patients in the PACU at St. Luke's Hospital, New Bedford, while participating in patient and family teaching. Provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel to maintain professional standards. Perform duties under the direction of the Manager, Patient Services, or designee, utilizing skills appropriate to the age group of patients served. This assignment includes a 11-13 week term with an option to extend, featuring 40-hour day shifts with on-call rotation (4-10hrs or 5-8hrs) and weeknight, weekend, and holiday call requirements. Candidates must possess at least one year of PACU experience, current Massachusetts RN licensure, BLS certification, and competency in reading telemetry strips.
Required Qualifications
- Current Southcoast Health System employees are not eligible for consideration.
- Former employees must be separated from Southcoast for at least 9 months to be eligible.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent is required.
- Current RN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
- Minimum of one year of PACU nursing experience required.
- Competent in reading and interpreting basic telemetry strips.
- Ability to efficiently float to other like-units for patient assignments is required.
- Working knowledge and experience with PC-based applications.
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

- Epic experience is preferred.
