Job Summary
Coordinate total nursing care for patients under direction of the Manager, Patient Services, or designee. Participate in patient and family teaching while working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel to maintain professional standards. Provide care appropriate to the age group of patients regularly served in the Med Surg Tele unit. Competently read and interpret basic telemetry strips while floating to any Southcoast Hospital as needed. Requires one year of Med Surg/Tele experience, current Massachusetts RN licensure, BLS, and ACLS certification. Full-time 24 or 36-hour shifts from 7:00pm-7:00am with every other weekend and holiday rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Current Southcoast Health System employees are not eligible for consideration.
- Former employees must be separated from Southcoast for at least 9 months to be eligible.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent is required.
- Current RN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
- ACLS is also required.
- Minimum of one year of Med Surg/Tele nursing experience required.
- Competent in reading and interpreting basic telemetry strips.
- Ability to efficiently float to other like-units for patient assignments is required.
- Working knowledge and experience with PC-based applications.
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
Desired Qualifications
- Epic experience is preferred.
