Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients using the nursing process, plans, and evidence-based clinical guidelines within the Texas scope of practice. Perform initial and ongoing focused assessments to analyze changes in patient condition, prioritize care, and develop individualized plans that reflect cultural aspects of illness. Administer medications and therapeutic treatments per orders, recognize abnormal responses, and initiate corrective therapy while documenting timely and accurately in the electronic medical record. Act as a patient and family advocate by establishing therapeutic relationships, identifying barriers to learning, implementing education plans, and initiating appropriate referrals to the healthcare team. Participate in quality improvement by identifying trends in patient care outcomes and engaging in practice change based on evidence-based practice.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Current RN License in the State of Texas
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Specialty Courses (ASC)
- National Certification in specialty
- BSN preferred
