Job Summary
Provide unit-based leadership in labor and delivery and postpartum care, supervising nursing and ancillary personnel while directing patient care activities. Initiate and coordinate team conferences to revise care plans, conduct patient rounds, and solicit feedback to improve quality of service. Manage staffing based on patient acuity, assign personnel to patients, and handle schedule adjustments, performance evaluations, and hiring decisions. Ensure compliance with Patient Safety Goals, oversee equipment maintenance, and implement systems to address operational issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
