Job Summary
Provide unit-based leadership in labor and delivery, postpartum, and related services by supervising nursing and ancillary personnel. Direct and monitor patient care activities, initiate team conferences to revise care plans, and make rounds to assess patient needs. Manage staffing levels based on acuity, assign personnel to patients, and coach or discipline staff as needed. Ensure compliance with Joint Commission safety goals, participate in performance improvement teams, and recommend policy changes. Maintain equipment safety, document unit activities, and keep staffing costs within budget.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
