Job Summary
Lead labor and delivery and postpartum unit operations by supervising nursing and ancillary personnel, directing care plans, and managing staffing based on patient acuity. Initiate team conferences, make rounds, and solicit feedback to improve patient experience and address operational issues. Ensure compliance with Joint Commission safety goals, participate in performance improvement teams, and implement staff development activities. Coach, discipline, and evaluate unit employees while directly involved in hiring and termination decisions. Maintain equipment functionality, ensure department cleanliness, and manage staffing costs within budget targets.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
