Job Summary
Provide unit-based leadership in labor and delivery and postpartum, supervising nursing and ancillary personnel while ensuring cost-effective, safe patient care. Initiate and coordinate team conferences to revise care plans, make rounds to assess patient needs, and solicit feedback to improve quality of services. Manage staffing requirements based on patient acuity, assign personnel to patients, and address schedule adjustments or performance evaluations. Recommend policy changes, participate in Performance Improvement Teams, and ensure compliance with Joint Commission safety goals. Maintain department equipment, oversee cleanliness, and keep staffing costs within budget.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing
- Five years' technical experience
- Supervisory experience
- demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- all required vaccinations
- acknowledged access to and reading of E-Verify Participation and Right to Work notices
Desired Qualifications

- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
