Provide unit-based leadership by supervising and directing nursing and ancillary personnel while ensuring cost-effective, professional care with high patient safety and satisfaction. Initiate and coordinate individual and team conferences to revise care plans, make rounds to assess patient needs, and solicit feedback to develop strategies improving customer satisfaction. Manage staffing requirements based on patient acuity, assign personnel to patients, arrange relief for breaks, and evaluate performance through coaching, discipline, and hiring decisions. Ensure compliance with Patient Safety Goals by participating in Performance Improvement Teams, maintaining department equipment, and keeping staffing costs within budget.
