Job Summary
Provide unit-based leadership by supervising nursing and ancillary personnel, directing care plans, and managing staffing based on patient acuity. Initiate team conferences, assign staff to patients, and coach or discipline employees as needed. Ensure compliance with Patient Safety Goals, maintain department equipment, and document unit activities while keeping staffing costs within budget. Solicit feedback on nursing services and recommend policy changes to improve patient and family satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing
- Five years' technical experience
- Supervisory experience
- demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- all required vaccinations
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- CPR certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
