Job Summary
Lead unit-based leadership in labor and delivery and postpartum, supervising nursing and ancillary personnel while ensuring cost-effective, safe patient care. Initiate and coordinate individual and team conferences to revise care plans, make rounds to assess patient needs, and solicit feedback on quality of nursing services. Manage staffing requirements based on patient acuity, assign personnel to patients, and arrange relief for meals and breaks. Investigate and resolve patient care and operational issues, recommend policy changes, and evaluate performance of unit employees. Coach and discipline personnel as appropriate, instruct new staff on job duties, and work with facility services to maintain equipment and department cleanliness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing
- Five years' technical experience
- Supervisory experience
- demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- all required vaccinations
- acknowledged access to and reading of E-Verify Participation and Right to Work notices
Desired Qualifications

- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
