Job Summary
Provide unit-based leadership and supervise nursing and ancillary personnel to ensure cost-effective, professional care and positive patient outcomes. Direct team conferences, manage staffing based on patient acuity, and assign staff to patients while coaching and evaluating performance. Initiate care plans, resolve operational issues, and recommend policy changes to improve quality and satisfaction. Ensure compliance with Patient Safety Goals, maintain equipment, and document unit activities. Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to develop systems for staff development and address special needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
