Job Summary
Provide unit-based leadership by supervising nursing staff, directing care activities, and managing staffing based on patient acuity. Initiate team conferences to revise care plans, make rounds to assess patient needs, and solicit feedback to improve quality of care and satisfaction. Ensure compliance with Joint Commission safety goals, participate in Performance Improvement Teams, and implement systems to address operational issues. Assign personnel to patients, coach employees, and make hiring or termination decisions while maintaining budget targets and minimizing overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
