Job Summary
Provide unit-based leadership by supervising nursing and ancillary personnel, directing care activities, and managing staffing based on patient acuity and needs. Initiate team conferences to revise care plans, make rounds to assess patient needs, and solicit feedback to improve quality of service. Ensure compliance with Patient Safety Goals, resolve operational issues, and implement systems for staff development and performance improvement. Direct hiring and termination decisions, coach staff, and maintain equipment safety while keeping staffing costs within budget.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
