Job Summary
Provide unit-based leadership by supervising and directing nursing and ancillary personnel, initiating team conferences to revise care plans, and making rounds to assess patient needs. Ensure cost-effective, professional care while improving quality of patient experience through feedback collection and policy recommendations. Manage staffing requirements based on patient acuity, assign personnel to activities, and handle performance evaluations, coaching, and hiring decisions. Maintain department safety by ensuring equipment functionality, cleanliness, and compliance with Joint Commission Patient Safety Goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing
- Five years' technical experience
- Supervisory experience
- demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- all required vaccinations
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- CPR certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
