Job Summary
Provide unit-based leadership by supervising nursing and ancillary personnel, directing care activities, and managing staffing based on patient acuity and skill mix. Initiate team conferences to revise care plans, make rounds to assess patient needs, and solicit feedback to improve quality and satisfaction. Ensure compliance with safety goals, resolve operational issues, and recommend policy changes. Coach staff, evaluate performance, and handle hiring and termination decisions. Maintain equipment safety and document unit activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
